A Miracle of Medicine or Testament for An Individuals Will to Live?
Dottie Lessard has been defying the odds as far back as she can remember. There is no logical explanation why 43 year old Lessard of Boston, Massachusetts should be breathing a single breath today when at six months of age she was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and not expected to live past the age of two. There is no medical reason why Lessard survived a grueling 12 hour surgery after dying twice on the operating table during her double lung transplant while the doctors were literally scraping her diseased lungs from her chest cavity. Is it a miracle that Dottie, the multi Gold-Medalist and Professional Nike Athlete will be traveling to Madison, Wisconsin to compete in her 7th Transplant Games July 31st-August 4th, 2010.
